Last blog we talked about the Scoreboard being a tool that shows the team the results of their efforts. Since football season is full swing, we will refer to their scoreboard again. Look closely at their scoreboard again. What do you see? The score (obviously), but what else is there? Time on the clock, what quarter you are in, how many timeouts are left, what down it is, what yard line the ball is on, and how many yards to go. What does this have to do with Three Page? Over the next few months, we are going to break this scoreboard down and show you how the Three Page Weekly Tracker will give you all of this information for your business.

For this blog we are going to cover the down, yardage and spot of the ball. What is the goal of any offense when they take the gridiron? To get in the end zone and score, right. Realistically, it is rare that a team will do that in 4 plays. So to help them out, they have markers along the way, set in 10 yard increments. Crossing one of these markers gives them another set of downs, extends the drive and allows them to continue on towards their goal. Failure to reach their marker cost them the ball and give the edge to their competitors.

Same thing applies with your business. When you create your forecast, the ultimate goal of the team is to reach or exceed that forecast. (Forecast is the end zone). It is important to make sure that you have markers along the way to let the team know how far along they are. The Weekly Tracker will do just that by showing you how far from reaching your forecast you are. (Ball on the 35 yard line). It will show how much is needed the next week to reach your next marker (10 yard to go). It will also show this information on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and year to date basis which will inform you of how many opportunities you have left to reach your next marker. (3rd down).

Let’s take a look at the Three Page Scoreboard!

The more information that your team has, the better chance they have of reaching the goals that you have set with them. Lack of information leads to lack of success. Be sure that the team sees the entire scoreboard.
